There’s A New Profile In Town!

Skout’s done it again; we’ve got a new upgrade for you. What does this mean? Lot’s of cool new stuff!

First and foremost you’ll notice an all-new profile! We’ve made the profile view more streamlined to highlight the things you need to know. Across the top you can see the persons name, age, location and whether or not they are online making it super easy to connect.

The left side of the profile now shows you the 4-1-1 including their backstage rating, and across the bottom you can wink or favorite them see their buzz and check out all their info. Want to start up a chat, hit the big green chat button and you are good to go.

We’ve also updated the profile pictures, you can now have seven, so there’s no more having to choose between the picture of you skydiving or the picture of you surfing that monstrous barrel, you can have them both. Once you’ve got seven profile pictures chosen the rest of your images will hangout in backstage where others can see them and award stars for your collection. Below the profile pics you can see your buzz pictures and updates. Now’s there’s 3 places to upload pictures, Public Profile, Backstage and Buzz!

New Skout Release – Push to Talk!

Sometimes in today’s world of texting, emailing and chatting I find myself missing the sound of someone’s voice. There are just certain things that get lost when you type them. You know like sarcasm, and irony, or just pure happiness. Sure you can put it in italics or add a lot of exclamation points but it’s not the same as hearing the tone and inflection of a person’s voice.

Here at Skout we thought you might feel the same way, somethings are just better spoken. So today we are super excited to announce our newest feature Push to Talk!

When you’re in a chat with someone and only voice will do, click on the microphone at the bottom right…

Then, just hold your finger on the Hold to Talk button and record away, 10 seconds, 20 seconds up to 30 seconds. Leave a message for someone you’ve been chatting with. When you’re finished and want to go back to typing just click the keyboard and you’re set!

Where Are My Favorites and Friends?

Looking for the favorites and friends button? Don’t worry, they’re still there, you can find them on the new Connections Screen!

Now you can keep your friends and favorites at the tip of your fingers in one easy to tap spot. Be sure to add your friends so you can always connect with them, and favorite people you think are the cats meow.  With just the tap of button you can add friends to your friends list and favorite special people.

Speaking of favoriting people, have you ever wondered who’s favorited you? Click the Who? Button and for mere points you can unlock the list to see who has put you on their favorite list. These semi-secret admirers thought you were super special aren’t you curious as to whom they are?

Go on; try unlocking it now, you never know whom you’ll find!

Android Update – New Cool Stuff!

Hey Skouters we’ve got exciting news – an Android update launched today and it is chock full of super cool things!

There’s a whole new Meet People grid that makes it easier to, well, meet people of course. Plus a super cool Feature Me bar running across the top.

Bid on a spot in the featured bar for maximum exposure to other Skout members, how much you bid determines which spot you get, so bid high for that #1 place! The all-new Meet People Grid lets you control who you see choose Local, Country or Global depending on how you feel.  Just want to chat with new friends near by? Choose local. Interested in making a friend across the world from you? Choose the global option. The choice is yours!

Why would you use points to promote yourself in the Feature Me bar you ask? Because it helps you stand out from the crowd. Yes, the new Meet People grid is super awesome, but you know what’s even more awesome? Being one of the pictures scrolling across the top of Skouters screens…that’s what the Feature Me option does!

Shake to Chat Arrives on Android

An Android update of Skout is now available in Google Play!

You can now invite your Instagram friends to chat with you on Skout with a personalized photo of your profile!

Your own profile photo will be added to the phone in the picture when you invite your Instagram friends!

You can find the Add Instagram Friends button on the top of your chat inbox.

We have also revamped content-sharing.  You can now send smileys, photos, and gifts all from one easy menu.

Skout has undergone a complete makeover! We have updated our appearance and added new features and functions.

The Skout icon has changed from a heart to the Skout target to better represent Skout’s aim to make it fun and easy to meet new people and make friends. From our icon down to our toes, we’ve changed our appearance to be sleeker, smoother, and more intuitive.

Skout is all about connecting and friendship, you can now add your friends from Facebook or contact list.  Show your social circle and Skout with your Friends.

 

Quickly Navigate Anywhere
Moving around the new Skout is super easy with swipe action – swipe to the left to access your chat inbox and swipe right to access the navigation menu.  You’ll be zipping around and chatting up a storm in no time!

Requested by You – Block List
You can now manage your own block list. Block and unblock users at your own choosing. On the left navigation menu (remember, swipe right to reveal it!), tap Settings, then Blocked Users to access your block list.

 

Comment and Share
A picture is worth a thousand words, so we’ve enhanced the photo viewing and commenting experience with pinch and zoom capability, a photo gallery, and smoother browsing.

 

Speaking Your Language
Skout now supports 13 languages, including French, Italian, Swedish, Thai, and Indonesian.
