Corey is entering his sophomore year at Lynchburg College in Virginia, where he studies criminology. He likes going to the beach, watching movies and listening to music. During his internship at Skout, Corey wants to check out the San Francisco dining scene and explore historical landmarks. Tune in to the Skout Blog for Corey’s updates each week, and add him on Skout, too (SkoutID: corepowww)! I’m halfway there! During my third week here at Skout, I got to experience something really cool: an actual video shoot in Los Angeles!

Accompanied by Jennifer, Skout’s social media manager, I flew to L.A. for a day of shooting a video for Skout. As I looked out of the airplane window, I saw the Staples Center! I see it all the time in movies, and it was interesting to see it in person because it looks just as big and bright as I expected it to be.

We arrived in L.A. around 10 p.m., and I was so exhausted. I couldn’t wait to get to the hotel and sleep!

The next day began at 7 a.m. I woke up, got dressed and had breakfast – eggs, sausage, and coffee – which was really good.

Then Jennifer and I took a taxi to the site where the video was to be shot – at Loyola Marymount University. We were greeted warmly by the production team, Paxeros Creative, and everyone involved. Everyone was so nice, and I felt right at home.

As soon as we arrived, everyone got into their places to begin filming. The campus was so cool! It is easily the most beautiful campus I’ve seen in a long time. I think palm trees are definitely growing on me. The actors and actresses were fun to be around and never lost spirit.

I wasn’t able to sightsee a lot because we were only there for that day, but we did have lunch in the city, and I saw a bunch of nice houses. The last thing I tried to see was the Hollywood sign, but we were so far from it we could barely see it on the mountain!

After most of the filming was done, we headed back to the airport to get back to San Francisco.

It was a great experience, and I’m glad I had a chance to go to L.A., even though it was a short visit. The filming went smoothly, and we were really pleased with all the footage shot and everyone’s cooperation during the shoot.

Stay tuned for my next blog, where I share my adventures of my tour around San Francisco!
