Tales of a Skout Global Friendship Ambassador, Week 2: The Shoot

Corey, Skout's Global Friendship Ambassador

Corey, Skout's Global Friendship Ambassador

Corey is entering his sophomore year at Lynchburg College in Virginia, where he studies criminology. He likes going to the beach, watching movies and listening to music. During his internship at Skout, Corey wants to check out the San Francisco dining scene and explore historical landmarks. Tune in to the Skout Blog for Corey’s updates each week, and add him on Skout, too (SkoutID: corepowww)! My first week at Skout was amazing because I had the opportunity to get a feel for the company culture.

My second week, however, was even busier! I assisted with many different projects the marketing team was working on. The highlight of the week was the video shoot we did for International Kissing Day.

Some of the employees here at Skout brought in their own dogs, and we all had an opportunity to kiss them. Almost all of the dogs cooperated and licked us all over our faces and even in our noses! These were the most adorable dogs I’ve ever seen! Dogs who weren’t offering kisses had to be bribed with almond butter placed on our faces. I haven’t had much experience with pets, but I think I did pretty well; I’ve got a knack for sweet-talking animals.

After about an hour or two of filming, we got really good footage. Check out the completed video here!

Besides the video shoot, I attended a lot of meetings and learned countless things about the world of marketing. Marketing is a lot more interesting than I expected! Marketing encompasses things such as influencers and communicating with the community. My favorite part of marketing is coming up with interesting ideas and having the opportunity to implement some of those ideas. Nothing is ever as it seems.

One thing I’ve learned in this short time is that you won’t truly know if something is for you until you actually try it for yourself. Try something new – you may end up loving it!

Until next week!
