Eyes on the Prize.

FIFA's World Cup is arguably the biggest sporting event in the world, and it starts today! If you're a fan, you're probably scrambling into the arena or "accidentally" taking a longer lunch at the sports bar around the corner from work. If you're not a fan, you're probably annoyed and wondering why so many people are at your local sports bar in the middle of the day. Well, this post is for you! Ladies (and gents), I've got 5 very good reasons you should participate in the World Cup frenzy even if you still don't know the difference between football and futbol. Gerard Pique, Barcelona: Pique is the 6'4" centre-back for Team Barcelona. If he looks familiar to you, it's probably because you've seen him holding hands with his celebrity girlfriend and baby-mama Shakira, and we don't know who we're more jealous of!

Adam Larsen Kwarasey, Ghana: Although Kwarasey was born and raised in Norway, he chose to represent his father's country of Ghana at an international level. Our eyes are definitely on the prize, and he's our goal(ie)

tumblr_libic6xJ5a1qbwhqho1_1280Claudio Marchisio, Italy: With piercing blue eyes and chiseled jawline, it's hard to tell if Marchisio is an athlete or a model. Lucky for us, he's both. Now, you can catch him gracing fashion ads as well as on the field as the midfielder for Team Italy.

Cristiano Reynaldo, Real Madrid: Perhaps one of the most known and wealthiest futbol players, Reynaldo can be seen on the cover of many magazines and video games as well as on the arms of beautiful women. He was the first non-American to reach 10 million followers on Facebook, and was dubbed one of the "World's Most Influential People" according to Time magazine.

10380300_10152521137534122_8269612384877560193_nTim Howard, USA: Most sports fans know Howard as the goalkeeper for Team USA. What some may not know however, is he was drafted by the Harlem Globetrotters exhibition basketball team in 2009. He's also a PETA advocate, having posed for their "Ink Not Mink" ad, which you'll just have to Google for yourself (trust us, you want to see it!).
