One of the best times to socialize with others is while you’re inebriated. Unfortunately, one of the worst times to socialize with others is also while you’re inebriated.
It’s no secret that alcohol has an effect on one’s communication skills. However, there’s a fine line between having one glass of wine to take the edge off, and one too many shots to take your clothes off. Crossing this line can be the difference between making friends at your new job, and dancing on top of the conference room table.
It doesn’t matter if you’re in a crowded club or home alone – liquid courage can turn into liquid regret faster than you can shotgun a beer. They say that a drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts, but what do you make of a text that says, “Can I luck your facet kaljs!! H 9898 kh?! I mice youuu so macho>!GUIg” at 2:30 in the morning? Sometimes a drunk man’s words are just…incoherent. So if you don’t want to be horribly misunderstood, here are some do’s and don’ts of communicating while under the influence.
DO leave your inhibitions at the door. DON’T leave your good judgment there with it.
DO speak your mind. DON’T speak with the wrong lips or think with the wrong head.
DO let loose. DON’T be loose.
DON’T TEXT YOUR EX. Again, DON’T TEXT YOUR EX.
DO make new friends. DON’T make new enemies.
DO hop on Skout. DON’T end up on someone’s block list. Get on Skout and see who else in the area is out having a good time and join them! Always be respectful, and always be safe. The rules that are there when you’re sober still apply when you’re drunk.
In no way am I encouraging the consumption of alcohol, but let’s face it – people get drunk. If you’re going to do it anyway set some limits beforehand, especially if you’re track record isn’t so great to begin with. There are precautions you can take like leaving your phone in the car, with a friend, or even at home. Just remember that what you send tonight, will still be in someone’s inbox tomorrow morning. And the memory of sexting your mom instead of your booty-call can traumatize you forever.

Great post, I think a lot of people forget this, drinking can help break the ice, but you do not want to be such a mess that you fall completely through it.
Also; that last line, how terrible that would be!
So nice
